Aid for Women is the only pro-life pregnancy resource center located in Chicago's Loop. Our mission is to empower individuals to make choices consistent with the dignity of the human person and the family. Volunteer pregnancy counselors and mentors provide each woman with compassionate, confidential counseling, and the information, resources and support she needs to make wholesome and healthy choices regarding her pregnancy and sexual activity. Project Reality
Project Reality has been a pioneer in the national field of adolescent health education since 1985. Funded in part by a grant through the Illinois Department of Human Services, Project Reality specializes in the development, teaching and evaluation of abstinence programs in the public schools. Project Reality serves middle and high school students, youth groups and parents with their abstinence and character education programs such as Game Plan, Navigator, I Can Do That! And Parent Power. During the 2004-2005 school year, 92,000 students in approximately 400 schools throughout the state of Illinois were served through Project Reality programs.
The Pro-Life Action League
The Pro-Life Action League is an activist organization, specializing in sidewalk counseling to offer alternatives to abortion-bound women, protests and demonstrations to raise public consciousness on abortion and using the media to spread the pro-life message. The Pro-Life Check Guy
George Johnson, the "Pro-Life Check Guy," was the original creator of Life Checks, which he later sold to Custom Direct. When it was discovered that Custom Direct prints pro-abortion checks and donates to pro-abortion causes, George got back in the check business and created Sanctity of Life Checks, available through Promise Checks.
The Pro-Life/Pro-Family Coalition
Under Rev. Hiram Crawford's leadership, the Pro-Life/Pro-Family Coalition worked to block the school contraceptive clinics. An annual seminar and banquet, pro-life newspaper ads, and other initiatives keep the knowledge of the daily murder of unborn children before the eyes of God and the African-American community.
