A New Century Brings New Challenges

The 2006 SpeakOut Illinois Conference, "For Such a Time as This," held Jan. 28 at the Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, was a great success. Four hundred area pro-lifers came for our program of excellent speakers, and were armed with the arguments and information necessary to carry on the pro-life mission in this new century.

Conference Highlights

Mark Crutcher, Founder and President of Life Dynamics, Inc. delivered a keynote address, "Is the Pro-Life Movement Credible?" He called upon pro-lifers to settle for nothing less than victory in the battle against abortion.

Fr. Frank Pavone, Founder and National Director of Priests for Life was awarded the Henry Hyde Life Leadership Award at the Conference dinner and delivered a talk on "The Atrophy of Compassion."

Two sessions of concurrent workshops dealt with the issues of stem cell research, contraception, eugenics, euthanasia, child predators and parents' rights.
